In a Hafling family on the Menagerie Coast, just outside of Gwardam, Delores was raised. She was a contented young girl who spent her childhood playing with her older siblings, a brother named Wellby and a sister named Carissa. As Delores matured, it was apparent she was different from other children in the Hafling community. Because of this, she was often bullied due to her tall stature and dark skin complexion. As a matter of fact, she didn’t resemble anyone in her family at all! On one occasion, Delores questioned her origins and was told she was a gift from the gods. In reality, the Goodbody family found baby Delores on their doorstep. Later on, Delores became interested in the skill of singing, despite her lack of ability to hold a tune. Her family only further encouraged her, inviting her to sing in taverns, during festivals, and even participate in a singing competition before the great Vasan Athrith, Marquis of Gwardan. As time moved on, the Goodbody family tried endlessly to encourage Delores to seek out trainers or talented bards in order to improve on her already brilliant talent, but she wouldn’t have it. The thought of leaving her family distressed her. Both her father and her mother, on separate occasions, tried to persuade her to seek out adventures and travel the world, but it was to no avail. One day, Delores spent the afternoon in the local tavern listening intently as visiting merchants tell tales on the misadventures of Alexander Wacken, a faraway hero. She was enthralled by the stories and quickly jotted down the details to incorporate into her own baric songs, even though some of the details weren’t very accurate, and in some cases, missing important details. Delores then realized the day flew by and evening was upon her. She rushed home only to be surprised by a party in her name. Bewildered, her family declared the party was to celebrate Delores achievements, what little achievements there were, handed her a bag of gold with a map inside, and told her she was requested to meet up with Renaldo the Brave and his brother Branaldo the Wise. Now, Delores is starting her journey to find out who this Renaldo person she must meet.
