Unusual Nature. Vermis of the Drastikan require no air, food, drink, or sleep.
Worms. If the Vermis of the Drastikan is targeted by an effect that cures disease or removes a curse, all the worms infesting it wither away, and it loses its
Cling to Life action.
Actions
Dagger: Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) piercing damage.
Cling to Life. Once a Vermis of the Drastikan reaches 0 hit points a worm launches from its dying corpse at one humanoid within 10 feet of it. The worm latches onto the target's skin unless the target succeeds on a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw. The worm is a Tiny Undead with AC 6, 1 hit point, a 2 (-4) in every ability score, and a speed of 1 foot. While on the target's skin, the worm can be killed by normal means or scraped off using an action. Otherwise, the worm burrows under the target's skin at the end of the target's next turn, dealing 1 piercing damage to it. At the end of each of its turns thereafter, the target takes 2 (1d4) necrotic damage per worm infesting it (maximum of 4d4). Once the target drops to 0 hit points, the worm burrows out of the target after 2 turns. If a worm-infested target is targeted by an effect that cures disease or removes a curse, all the worms infesting it wither away.
A Vermis of the Drastikan is a humanoid devotee of the Drastikan who has been turned into an undead and acts as a low level Spawn of Kyuss. The turning of the devotee takes place during a turning ceremony performed by one or more High Priest of the Drastikan.
During the turning ceremony, the black leeches are inserted into the ears of a devotee of the Drastikan by a High Priest of the Drastikan. The leech burrows it's way through the targets ear and latches onto the targets brain. Once the leech takes hold of the devotee's brain, the turning begins. The turnings is an excrutionating process for the devotee. After the proper amount of time has past the worm kills the devotee and animates the corpse, transforming it into a Vermis of the Drastikan.
Once turned a Vermis of the Drastikan takes the form of a zombie with pale yellow glowing eyes. As time passes worms begins to burrow out of the appendages of the Vermis and slowly grow to cover the Vermis completely. Because of this, the Vermis of the Drastikan cover there appendages with dirty bandages and don long dirty black hooded cloaks.
