In your hands you manifest two tiny glowing fragments of a star and propel them at a target of your choice within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the chosen target. On hit you may choose to use all damage dice on a single target or chain it to another target, splitting the dice between them. If you choose not to chain it, the target will take 2d4 radiant damage and will emit bright light in a 10 foot radius for 3 rounds of initiative.   If you choose to chain it, the first target instead takes 1d4 radiant damage and emits bright light in a 10 foot radius for 3 rounds of initiative. The second fragment then chains to another target of your choice within 10 feet. The next target also takes 1d4 radiant damage and emits bright light in a 10 foot radius for 3 rounds of initiative.   At later levels, you gain more fragments to chain with, choosing to either concentrate the damage on a single target or split the damage between multiple targets, spending each of the damage dice in the roll on a number of targets of your choice. You cannot apply damage to the same target twice, and must choose a new target within 10 feet of the last each time you chain the fragments.
At higher levels: This spell’s damage increases by 2d4 when you reach 5th level (4d4), 11th level (6d4), and 17th level (8d4), allowing you to potentially split the damage up between 2 to 8 targets.
