The device sends forth a sub-zero gust of air at a creature. Make a ranged spell attack against the creature to assail them with chilling air. Upon a hit, the target takes 1d8 necrotic damage and cannot regain the hit points until the start of your next turn.   If the target is undead, it also has disadvantage on attack rolls until your next turn.
At higher levels: The device's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach level 5 (2d8), level 11 (3d8), and level 17 (4d8).
