Activating the machine, it completely sucks in all the air from a 40-foot high cylinder with a radius of 20 feet. The machine prevents air from flowing back into the cylindrical area.   All creatures in the cylindrical area are required to make a CON saving throw. On a failure, the creature has the air sucked from their lungs and can survive only a number of rounds equal to their CON modifier (minimum 1 round). If they run out of time, they drop to 0 hit points and die. On a successful saving throw, they can hold their breath for a number of minutes equal to 1 + CON Modifier (minimum 30 seconds). If they run out of air, they also fall to 0 hit points and die.   A creature may not enter the cylindrical area while holding their breath unless it succeeds on a CON saving throw.   The lack of air in the area results in many effects:

• Flight which relies on the existence of air is impossible. Flying creatures in the area fall to the ground.
• Non-anomalous fires are immediately extinguished. If an anomalous fire is attempted to be started in your Vacuum, the caster must make a spellcasting ability check versus your spell save DC. Failure results in the extinguishing of their anomalous fire.
• Each creature in the area takes 1d6 cold damage at the start of their turn and when entering the cylinder for the first time due to the lack of ambient heat.
• Each creature in the area takes 3d10 necrotic damage at the start of their turn and when entering the cylinder for the first time due to the bodily fluids evaporating in the low pressure environment.
• Constructs and Undead aren't effected by the vacuum.
• Plants and other creatures which especially rely on water take an extra 2d10 necrotic damage at the beginning of their turn and when entering the vacuum for the first time.
