Weapon: Goliath Shield (custom final)

Disclaimer: The flaws of this won't show up, there are many, and could be seen as important. If you want to know them let me know     Goliath Shields: Goliath Shields are specifically made for the Goliath race. These shields are enormous, 2 handed weapons focusing on defense. They range from 5-9ft tall and are known for putting a wall before a enemy. Contrary to other Goliath weapons; they are not created for attacking, but can be used for such. The shield is hefty: You cannot use any other weapons if you equip this. (You can wield magic)

Features

A Standard GoliathShield uses [1d6] Bludgeon damage.   Passives:

  • Being bigger and sturdier then a normal shield, when wielding the shield alone, you gain a 3 AC boost instead of the normal 2.
  • When the weapon is unequipped, ranged and melee attacks aimed at your BACK take disadvantage.
  • When attacking with the GoliathShield, the wielder can choose to convert the damage into knockback instead. (Ex. Rolls 6+4, does 0 damage, knocks enemy back 10 feet.)
  • When attacking with the GoliathShield, the wielder can choose to half the damage, and then knockback the target for the rest of the roll. (Ex. Rolls 6+4, does 5 damage, knocks back 5 feet)
  • For both knockback abilities, if the roll is odd you round the knockback to the nearest 5/10th foot. (Ex. Rolls 6+3, target is knocked back 10 feet. If it's half damage, the target would be knockbacked for 5 feet)
  • The GoliathShield automatically does non-lethal damage, the wielder must state if they intend harm.
  • This shield can knockback up to Huge creatures and below. It has normal knockback from Fine to Large. BUT if the creature is huge+; any knockback is halved.
  • If the targeted creature is Tiny or under, the creature can be knocked back by double the amount of feet.
  • Anything below this point is optional to the DM for GoliathShields
  • GoliathShields can use your CON modifier instead of strength for attack rolls
  • OPTIONAL PASSIVES: GoliathShields have the option of charging. (Check with your DM if they will allow charging with this weapon, since this could be pretty big) When charging, you can charge into a line of enemies, you can choose to knock everyone that's in your line of charge to take knockback to the left or right of their current position. (So out of your way) Doing this method will only do damage to the first person hit. After doing this, enemies gain advantage on their attack rolls versus you until your next turn. You will also lose 10 feet of movement until your 2nd turn after charging. (Attack roll for charges: [20+attack+dex mod] knockback accordingly to the rolls.)
  • You can choose not to knock them back, and instead do damage to them all, not just the first person. If you do this, your enemies gain advantage on their damage rolls versus you until your next turn, your movement speed will also be cut by 10 feet until your 2nd turn after using the charge. If you do this, your charge must end on a unoccupied spot. (Can't stop on someone) The first person who's hit takes 1d10 damage when charged into, anyone else behind them takes 1d6 damage. (charging a single target ignores the drawbacks of this)
 
    ---IF THE WIELDER HAS "SHIELD MASTER"
    -When using the "shove" action while attacking, the knockback can stack with the GoliathShields passive ability.
    -When using your shields AC bonus to add to your Dexterity saving throw, it gains +2. (So the 3 AC from the shield is now +5 to your throw)
  ---Custom FEAT: GoliathShield Downtime   Your mastery with GoliathShields leaves the perfect opening for your allies to strike.   When knocking back an opponent with a GoliathShield, one ally adjacent to you can attack them with their reaction once per turn. (attack is considered a AOP) If the knockback was from a critical attack roll; then bows, crossbows, and spell cantrips can be used from a ranged ally as an AOP if the enemy is in range. Opponents cannot use their reaction to attack back as a AOP when being knockbacked with this FEAT. Everytime you take advantage from this FEAT, your AC will go down by 1 for this turn, and returns on the end of your next turn.   ---Custom FEAT: Sturdy Reflex   If an ally is being attacked adjacent to you, you can slam your shield infront of them as a reaction, boosting their AC by [1d6] until your turn. If the enemies attack misses because of your help, they get disadvantage on their next attack or saving throw roll. If you are getting attacked yourself, you can move your shield quickly between yourself and the enemies attack, giving them disadvantage. If the enemy misses because of your shield, the next attack on them has advantage. If the enemy attack hits, it loses damage equal to your CON modifier. This reaction can be used as many times as your CON or DEX modifier. This FEAT effect does not stack with the "Shield" spell.   --- Custom Feat: Full TitanShield Defense   When spending your action dodging, helping, stealthing or searching; You gain AC equal to your CON modifier until your next turn. This can be used up to your proficiency bonus. You may also choose to enter "Full Defense" where you ready your shield, sacrificing all your actions completely (Including reactions) to boost your AC by double your CON modifier until your next turn. Every time you are attacked in "Full Defense" your AC will go down by 1 until it is depleted to your original AC, or until your next turn. You can take no actions in this state. If you choose to leave Full Defense, you gain an attack bonus up to the number of times you were attacked in Full Defense, this boost lasts up to the number of your CON modifier. If you are attacked by a spell while in "Full Defense" that requires a saving throw, you can sacrifice the AC you gained by "Full Defense" up to the spells level to succeed that saving throw. If you fail you stay in Full Defense, if you succeed you leave Full Defense. You may use "Full Defense" up to your CON modifier   ---Custom Feat: Taunting Bash [WIP]   Mocking the enemy, you may attempt to gather their attention   You target 3 or less enemies you can see, bashing the outside of your shield, taunting enemies with your words. The enemy must succeed a Wisdom (Insight) check contested to your Charisma (Persuasion) check. If the enemies fail the saving throw, they will be forced to attack you for their next turn. At the end of each of their turns, they may make a Wisdom saving throw (DC is your original Charisma roll), if they fail they will continue to attack you until they successfully succeed their saving throw, or until you fall unconscious. If the enemy is out of range to attack you, they must spend their action of movement going towards you. Creatures that make the saving throw (after being taunted) cannot be taunted again for the amount of rounds they were successfully taunted for. You can use this FEAT one time + your charisma mod per battle.     ---Custom Feat: Pacifist (WIP)   +1 Wisdom or Charisma   Using your carefulness, you can give others another chance to perhaps keep living on.   When choosing this feat: You can now choose to non-lethal with spells if you have a GoliathShield. If you non-lethal an opponent successfully in anyway, your mind comes to peace and you heal 2d6+ the opponents Wisdom modifier. If you have full health the heal will turn into temporary health. (Does not stack) If the enemy you face cannot be beaten in non-lethal means, you gain advantage on Wisdom Saving throws vs your opponent, and they take disadvantage on a chosen saving throw you choose vs yourself once. If they fail a saving throw from taking disadvantage from this feat, you may choose for them to pass it instead, if you do this, you will deal +5 damage to your next attack and damage roll, and heal 2d8+the enemies Wisdom Modifier. The damage bonus is used on a successful attack, and can stack with itself if you choose not to attack. This ability can be used up to your proficiency bonus.

Suggested Characteristics

Contrary to the brutal nature of Goliaths, if you wield a GoliathShield, you are not one who likes to hurt. You are a different type of Goliath when it comes to battle. You are more passive then aggressive, using this weapon means you truly don't want any harm to be done. You must also have unwavering confidence in what you're doing. You will be looked down upon from many of your Goliath kin because of this.   Or if you want to see the enemies face when you slam a giant wall in front of them, that works too.
