It's also embedded with a flame quartz. While held, you are protected from extreme cold and treat incredible cold as extreme cold (you still take environmental damage from incredible cold reduced to extreme cold). Despite not taking damage from the environment, you still feel just how cold it is and react accordingly.   You also gain a +1 circumstance bonus to saving throws against cold effects while the shield is raised.
