“When I won a seat, I didn't expect it to be like this... but we'll make do with what we have. We'll do what we have to. We'll survive.” -Jon Faulken, Frontier World Resident
Time wasn't on their side. The earth was dying. Over population and war had pushed life to its limits and humans, instead of fixing the problem, fled. Corporations and countries alike began a space race that made the 1960s look like play time. Entire industries and sciences for methods of getting materials into space to make massive space ships, keep people alive for the long journey, and propel them through the cosmos sprung up almost overnight. Entire cities ripped down and recycled into the great works of ferrying them, as many as could fit, to a new home.
Jon, like most who had boarded the publicly funded and built vessels, won his seat via lottery. He was lucky. He, his brother Rocco Faulken, and their sister Cindy, were all lucky enough to have won a spot on the ship.
Though they had to say goodbye to their parents, knowing that they were leaving them to die on their home planet, their parents wanted them to live. But, of course, this was only the beginning of Jon's journey into the frontier. What came next... was an entire story of its own.
