A/N: Eek! This is one of my Shortest Chapters!

Dawn approached the first seat, nervous, but still used to it. “Hello,” She said meekly. “Amber, I’ll show you around the school, ok?”

Amber looked up at her, with a strange aura that tried to broadcast ‘I’m the Queen here, get out of my way!’ She tossed her hair in Dawn’s face, and Dawn felt her wolf growl softly in suspicion, but also in fear.

It was a huge red flag, and it haunted back to her memories of the nursery tales she had heard as a young yearling…

~~~
“Again! Again!” Dawn had yapped fiercely, almost tackling the helpless phi to the ground. “Tell me the story of the cruel fireoses!”
“No…” the poor babysitter had moaned. “I’ve already told it seventeen times, believe me I’ve counted. It’s time to be getting to sleep! And anyway, I’ve got to be going!”
Little Dawn had pouted, screaming and bawling, but after all, when they were in their wolf forms, they acted like their wolfish age.
Seeing this, the nameless phi, whom she never had remembered afterwards began to spin a tale of courageous werewolves, fierce warriors, and evil, sly, and snobbish fireoses.
“Once, a long long time ago, when the stars were different and the moon was forever full, spirits and humans lived in perfect harmony. But one day, there was an appearance of a new spirit breed, finally introduced to the place of coexistence, what the humans nowadays call the ‘Solar System’ and the spirit’s species title was fireos.
These fireoses believed they were better than everyone else, even though their performance was mediocre, and their learning speed just at borderline slow. They slowly became better and better, just enough so that the other spirits wouldn’t kick them out. But that didn’t stop them from being boastful and cruel. They would taunt other spirits so much that the other spirits conspired to be rid of them. After a long, long battle that lasted 10 days and an one-hundred year-long war, they were finally driven to the planet next to the gathering place of spirits, where humans lived.
They fought tooth and nail to be freed, but it was no use, until the humans started evolving. These new humans no longer remembered the peaceful days, and wanted to rule the land, driving spirits away. Apart from a few, they didn’t remember their ancestors’ warnings about the fireoses, and freed them from their planet. Slyly, the fireoses slipped and twisted through the cracks and fingertips of the other spirits, who despaired greatly and returned to their dimension. The fireoses have never left since. This is one of the reasons why the planet “Mars” is red, due to fireoses making fire dust stuck there for over a millennium.”
After the phi finished, Dawn yapped happily and wagged her tail for the babysitter to go, who sighed happily and galloped out the door as fast as her legs had let her.
~~~

“Dawn! Dawn? Dawn,” whispered a voice behind her, slippery and sly like the stories she had heard of fireoses. Dawn whipped around, faster than lightning only to be relieved when she saw just Amber standing in front of her, not a fully-fledged fireos warrior.

“It’s fine Amber, I was just thinking…” Dawn muttered hurriedly, trying to pass off the awkward moment.

Lots of time passed by as they chatted, and finally sunset arrived. The next day would be when classes resumed, and Dawn helped her get settled into the room.
