I've been having a lot of fun this week working on my Institute entry Terminus High University - The Tower of Progress.
This was an idea I had the base concept of a while ago, but this pretty much started and ended at "there's a University in this location," so I've had a lot of fun fleshing it out. In particular, focusing on the founding and history behind the University has been great, as I've been able to tie its development directly into the back stories of characters and to me it feels like I've really added to the world history.
For example, I'm fond of how the personalities of the three founders I developed lead to them competing with one another, which caused a historical event of them competing, which has become a city wide holiday in the modern day.
It's also helped me figure out how I write. Previously I've struggled with writing scenes, so I've been developing the idea of fleshing out a location first then scenes. This has worked well as an attempt here, as figuring out why the University developed as it did has caused certain scenes to develop.
