Usage rings worn on both thumbs and index fingers;
The Rings of Recorded Reflections are a set of four silver rings, designed to be worn on the thumbs and index fingers of both hands. When worn, the rings grant their user the ability to capture magical reflections or echoes of the current moment.
Once upon a time, in a tall tower at the edge of an enchanted forest, lived a wizard and his daughter. The girl, though kind and curious, was afflicted by an ancient malady and too frail to leave her home.
On the morning of her 17th birthday, the wizard presented his daughter with four rings. "My dear," he said, his eyes twinkling, "these rings hold the power to capture the beauty of the world. Though you cannot leave this tower, the world now has come to you."
The girl's eyes sparkled with joy as she beheld these marvels and for a while she forgot all about her ailment. But fate is often cruel in such tales. On the eve of the first snowfall after her birthday, with seventeen precious images stored in the rings, the girl closed her eyes for the last time, a serene smile upon her face. Heartbroken, the wizard vanished into the mists, abandoning his tower and the rings.
It is said that to this day, those who chance upon these magical rings can feel the wonder of discovery, a glimpse of beauty, the warmth of a parent's love, and the bittersweet echo of a heart that still grieves.
Captured moments, frozen in time, a life unlived, a love sublime.
Seventeen visions, forever bright, of worlds beyond her fading sight.
Type Capture Echo.
As an action, you can touch your thumbs and index fingers together to form a rectangular "frame". Upon forming the frame, the rings capture and image, or
echo of whatever you can see inside the bounds. This
echo is a perfect still reflection of reality at that moment, capturing all details within the frame.
You can store up to 17 echoes in the rings. You can use a free action to permanently remove an
echo, making space for others.;
Type Project Echo.
As a free action, you can again form a frame with your fingers to project one of the stored echoes in a spot you can see up to 120 ft away. A still image appears in a 10-foot by 5-foot rectangle. This
echo can be floating or projected on a flat surface and lasts as long as you maintain the frame with your fingers. During this time, you cannot take actions that require the use of your hands. You can have the
echo follow you if you move outside the 120 ft range or remain stationary as long as you remain within 1 mile of it.;
Type Up to four times per day (one for each ring) you can, when projecting an echo, add one or more of the following modifiers to it:
Blend. An echo taken of something in the area will blend seamlessly with its surroundings. While projecting this echo, you gain advantage on Stealth checks to hide behind the projected image.
Reveal. This option allows you to enhance the projection to reveal hidden or invisible elements that were present when the echo was captured, such as invisible creatures or illusions.
Zoom. Magnify a specific area of the projected echo up to ten times its original size while retaining quality and details. While projecting this image, you gain advantage on Perception checks related to the magnified area.
Sharpen. Enhance the clarity of a creature or object within the echo, causing the rest to softly blur. You have advantage on checks to recall or deduce information about the focused creature or object if those checks would require a closer inspection.
Brighten. For the next hour, whenever youpriject this echo, the image appears as if the Light cantrip was cast on it.
Enlarge. The projected echo expands to fit a 10-foot by 20-foot rectangle, retaining the quality and details of the image.
Dazzle. Each creature within 15 ft of the projection that can see it must make a Will saving throw equal to your Class DC. On a failed save, the creature is blinded until the end of its next turn.;
