Overview & Creation
The Culinariate is devoted to the experience of food, feast, and creating delicacies. By choosing this class you devote yourself to being a creator, an artisan and a god amongst fatties. You gain a new skill, Cooking (Intelligence)
Cooking is the function of physically cooking the food. It's up to the dm, but the quality of food is affected mainly. This skill is also used to create food in subpar surroundings, or to make potions, or when taking to other cooks.
Its impossible to predict the use of this stat in every condition in game. The way a dish is cooked and served can be acted out by the player. The ingredients should be presented to them, and they must improvise or create a dish using the items available.
In addition to their culinary abilities, the Culinariate gains minor spell casting and general boosts to combat in order to give them survivability and make them useful.
Class Features
Scavenge
The first class ability is
Scavenge, which allows the user to search in a 30 ft radius around them for edible components. The success of this depends on an Survival check, and takes into account any dead creatures, the environment and whether the player has time to concentrate. Upon a DC 5 roll, the player harvests 1 component, DC 10 2 components, DC 15 3 components, and DC 20 4 components. These components depend on the dead creature, and are really up to the DM. But these components allow you to create food using the Cook ability
Cook
Uses any materials collected to cook a meal. It requires 3 components to cook a meal properly. The healing power of this meal is based on a Cooking saving throw. If the roll is above 20, it completely heals health. If it's under 20, it heals a percentage of health based a percentile roll made by the player.
Ability Score Improvement
Starting at 2nd Lecel, and repeating at others, you can add one permanent point to either Strength, Dexterity, Constitutive, Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma
Cookbook
At 2nd Level the Culinariate gains a cookbook. Similar to the Wizard's spellbook, a Cookbook allows the user to record the specific recipes they particularly enjoy. It can only be used outside of combat, and consists of a seperate sheet of paper with the recipes recorded on it. When the user cooks a meal using these recipes, they gaan advantage on all rolls involved.
Choice of Career
The Culinariate is able to chose their subclass, or Career, and can begin to benefit from them.
Creature Attunement
Starting at 4th Level, whenever the Culinariate cooks a meal using components from a monster they or the party have slain, find the highest Base Stat of the creature. For 1 hour, anyone that eats the meal gains an extra d6 on all rolls involving that stat.
Weaponized Cookingware
Starting at 5th level, the Culinariate can use their cooking tools as a bonus action in combat, the knives causing 1d6 slashing damage, the pans, pots, and cutting board all causing 1d6 bludgeoning.
Spiced Shot
Starting at 6th level, you can cover an arrow or bolt in a dangerously spicy powder coating 5gp. Upon a successful hit, the target must make a Constitution Saving throw or be racked by a coughing fit that renders them useless for three turns.
Dicing Strikes
Starting at 7th level, when using a Slashing or Piercing weapon, you can make a multiattack of four strikes with advantage on hit and damage rolls.
Cooking Improvements
Starting at 8th level, any food cooked that benefits from the
Creature Attunement ability will now give a d8 to saves and last for 3 hours.
Hunters Shot
At 9th level, if an event is at an eighth of their total health and is a CR less then 5, you can make a ranged attack with advantage that kills it instantly by striking it on a critical spot, and it now provides tree times the cooking components.
Chef's Specials
At level 10 the user can create up to three Chef's Specials, a unique dish that causes the Culinariate to be known across the area. Once he chooses one, any citizen may randomly ask them to cook it for them, or the meal could be requested by a noble. These dishes, when eaten by a player, also grant advantage on all rolls.
Drastic Ingredients
Starting at level 11, any meal made from scavenged components gives an extra d10 to rolls and lasts for 6 hours, at the price of the meal needing to be cooked during a long rest, and the Culinariate doesnt heal during this rest.
Tourneéd
Starting at 12th level, the user may make a dual attack with two slashing or piercing weapons, making four seperate attacks with each weapon.
This means that a character holding 2 shorts words makes 4 four attacks with shortsword one, and four attacks with shortsword 2.
Specialties
Starting at 12th level, the player can choose an enemy type. They now gain full health and spell slots from any meal made from components from that enemy type.
Bouttisserie
At 15th level, the player can make a combination attack with a melee weapon and a ranged weapon, attacking twice with both weapons.
Indistinguishable Substitutions
At 17the level, the player can create any of their recorded dishes using any ingredients they have on hand.
Final Recipes
At the 20th level, the player can create extremely powerful recipes from any components. These food grant a bonus from any creature you harvest components from at a scale of the creatures base stats÷2, then rounded up. These are gathered from the creatures stat blocks. This buff lasts for 12 hours.
