Izzy flails a little as the crystal shatters, blinking rapidly as the Thorn Road Team finds themselves standing in front of a wall of thorns. She blinks and immediately goes to make a snarky comment--

Izzy furrows her brow and tries to clear her throat. Scowling now, she waves her hand by her ear, snapping her fingers. Nope. She looks back at the rest of the team with an uneasy shrug, using Thieves Cant to hope they'll get the gist. 'Well shit.'
She turns back to the wall of thorns, hands on her hips as she glares up at it, and then turns back to Cant again. 'Any ideas?' Just in case they don't spracken ze lingedy, she adds on a broad shrug at the end, waving her hand toward the wall as if to invite speculation.

as Jinora is crystallized & released she goes to speak being extra excited to say holy shit that was cool but nothing comes out
giving a silent huff shell cross her arms before remembering to look around.. she’ll take in the scene looking at the thorns with a sense of intrigue but respect.. then back to her party seeing Izzy thieves cant she’ll kinda shrug & give a ‘ so so’ hand sign. She’ll point to her fore head & to others as if to ask permission to try something.

Leafa blinks a few times as the flashy crystal like view dissipates from her vision and she's greeted by the wall of thorns ahead of her. Welp, that wasn't as bad as she thought it'd be
As she already begins quietly thinking of an idea she notices Izzy trying to communicate something. With a confused look that quickly shifts to realization, she tries making a sound to no avail. Rubbing her hands together? nothing. Stomping on the ground? Nada.
That...complicated a few things. She held up a finger to Izzy as if to ask for a moment before she attempted to begin using general sign language. But...she...barely knows any. The most that she communicates is 'I..S....E...O K' Before stopping and silently sighing. To not hear her own sigh was weird.
As she's about to attempt something else she notices Jinora's gesture. Taking her "spellbook" from her bag she begins flipping a few pages before giving her a thumbs up and a nod, happily giving permission.

Vhalias throws an arm up to shield their eyes against the bright light, and when they lower it they see that they are somewhere new.
Well that was— "?" They thought they said that out loud. They try again.
"...!" Their mouth snaps shut. Fuck.
They look around to the rest of the group, tilting their head when Izzy begins signing. 'None just yet.' They look to Jinora, tilting their head. They give a shrug; won't hurt to try.

Having never really had a problem with not being able to talk, the Kenku looks confused at the apparent trouble everyone is seeming to have. while she waits to receive some form of consent from everyone she’ll take her mask off with one hand so everyone can somewhat see what’s she’s doing with her mouth & with the other hand... she start casting a few spells with her mouth moving wordlessly as her tattoos on her fingers glow a little as for just an instant purple electricity will appear & volt like static electricity through her fingers & palm that will combust slightly into a teal flame in the palm of her hand before she snaps her fingers silently extinguishing it & giving a Big thumbs up. She laughs silently behind the mask at fish’s sentiment
now with consent she’ll say to everyone individually as how this telepathic feature works Welp good news everyone verbal spell components still work or else I might have been totally fucked.. SOoooOo we’re good there! shell say with a big smile floating up a little putting the mask back on as she looks around in the thorns but I can use this to speak to everyone individually if we need it. But this works as a one way line.. it seems we all have some understanding of thieves cant except for Leafa but I can translate.. if we need to have a ‘group talk’ quickly I can use detect thoughts to hear everyone at once but it only last a minute. Just thought it might be good to set up communications somewhat before we for rolling.

Leafa begins glancing around, growing more and more panicked as it seems the others are able to sign with no trouble. The look of dejection slowly creeping up on her face as her fears of being the useless one in this group begin to slowly become reality in her mind
Then she hears Jinora's voice and pauses, taking care to properly hear what she says. She perks up a bit and nods in understanding before taking out a piece of paper and very quickly writing on it, using her spellbook as support. She didn't have time to worry about her own ill preparedness, she'd make do and apologize later.
She flips the paper to everyone and it reads 'Thank you Jin. That help a lot. Hopefully I won't set us back like this for long. I have ways to burn thorns away but imagine they'll grow back. If anyone has the ability to dispel magic or even detect such that would be good to try before. Any other ideas?' The text is obviously rushed and sloppy but legible

Vhalias silently snickers at Fish's grin, nodding at Jinora and turning to sign to the rest of the group. 'If we can get our communication in hand it should help things go quicker, at any rate. If it helps, I know Detect Thoughts as well.'
They walk up to the wall of thorns, studying it for a moment, trying to see how deep it stretches.

At the voice in the head Fish instinctively pulls out, loads, and aims their crossbow with a remarkable speed. It's held aloft for a moment before they slide back down and reholster the crossbow, recognizing the voice as Jinora's. They shake their head to clear the moment from their mind before moving forward next to Vhalias. Fish pulls down the Eyes of the Eagle to look at the bramble trying to see if there were any paths ahead.

Izzy tilts her head, grinning as Jinora's voice comes through her increasing mental static. She glances at what Leafa wrote on the page, snaps her fingers in her finger guns (STILL no sound...). When she turns toward the hedge, she blinks, the kaleidoscope sheen of Detect Magic covering her eyes.
It's not even up for a second before Izzy reels, mouth moving in what would surely be a cacophony of curses if they could be heard with her forearm thrown up to shield her eyes. She keeps them firmly shut, spots dancing behind her lids from the sheer brilliance of the hedge. Izzy shakes her head vigorously, and thieves cants 'DO NOT USE DETECT MAGIC' very vehemently. 'CAN'T FUCKIN' SEE. CAN YOU TELL THE NON-SHITHEADS PLEASE?' She hopes Fish and Vhalias know that she means Leafa and Jinora on that, since writing is temporarily out of the question.

Jinora will float up looking at the thorns aside Izzy shell just start to reach out to touch one as Izzy starts flailing & shell pull back quickly seeing what happened & will giggle silently understanding the 'shit heads' part at least.
Seeing the red glow to the right & thinking about the poem from the Warden shell point to the red dot to the right for everyone to follow. Shell start floating that way slowly but will wait for Izzy to be ok & for the group to be on board before continuing the plan for the Sneaks to do what they do best. To Vhal Wanna take point on that red light? Ill take rear so we can make sure we dont get sepetated
To Leafa Hi soooo dont cast detect magic unless you want to go blind with these thorns I think there is hella magic here (sarcasm)
she has her hands ready to summon her staff if need be but is staying very cautious watching the thorns & things around. Shell summon Iroh her large red lunar moth to stay on her shoulder to be an extra pair of eyes as things proceed.

Leafa panics a bit from Izzy's sudden reaction, quickly going over to check on her. As she hears Jinora's voice in her head once again she silently sighs and nods. She then seems to get an idea.
She pulls out a bit of fleece from her coat pocket, before mushing it in her hands and twisting them around before opening them to reveal a small image of letters that pop out in front of everyone. They're a bit small and have no spaces between the words but it reads 'Follow red light? Can make three people bit faster as walk through to get past quicker. Keep together with rope?'
She then gives a double thumbs up before going back to trying to help Izzy, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder and mouthing the words 'sorrysorrysorry' a whole lot

They take out a dagger, turning it over in their hands as they consider the bracket of thorns in front of them. 'Any ideas as to clearing a path?'

Fish hopped a few feet closer looking over the bramble for a path forward. Their smaller size could maybe make it possible to climb through, but for the others that might not be an option. They tap their beak for a moment before looking back to the group. “Cutting might not work, could grow back, but spaces tight. Will get caught”

As the thorns strike at Jinora her vision goes red everything now how a red tint and a sense of vertigo settles in as all sense of direction is lost

...A lot seems to happen at once for Leafa. As first she's looking around confused at what everyone else is saying, only gesturing back at the floating words she put up as a response in hopes it's what they're talking about. And then she hears Jinora say something that makes her pause. She dispels the minor illusion and tries to quickly re-cast and word it again before suddenly she sees the thorns strike at Jinora and seem to disorient her. That's...that's bad
Dropping the spell, she quickly goes to run over to her before doubling-back, remembering Izzy still can't see. But something is happening to Jinora. But Izzy-But Jinora-God the path with child rhymes seems so much nicer now. In a quick motion she grabs a small piece of wood and string from her bag and ties them together before they seem to poof into nothing, casting Unseen Servant. Then Leafa points at Izzy, tying a small cloth around the invisible force before rushing over to Jinora, taking her hands to hopefully help stabilize her. She looks to the others very panicked. She doesn't even have an easy way to know what they're saying anymore.
Izzy feels some gentle force seem to hold her shoulders carefully, though to everyone else they'd only see a floating cloth tied around nothing beside her.

Vhalias grits their teeth as Jinora is attacked by the vines. They reach out, intending to simply climb in, but realize that they shouldn’t just do anything without telling anyone. They turn and come back to the group, sighing and reaching for one of Izzy’s hands to sign into where the group can see.
“Magic isn’t working. I think we just need to climb in. Something about the poem sticks out that I wanna try.” They look to Jinora to see if she’s coherent enough to understand.

Fish grumbled in silence a bit as the continued use of magic seems to go south. They watch Vhalias walk away, turning to hop towards the vines. The Kenku eyes the path and the light again, looking for a path of least resistance. They glance back at the group, anxious to get moving. “Must move forward, making no progress, wasting time.” They wait at the edge of the bramble to help others get through the entrance, grabbing a hold of some of the bramble to move it out of the way.

As fish reaches for the brambles he looks to try and grab a spot with no thorns thinking to see a spot he grabs the vine only to find a small hidden thorn stab into his hand pushing some kind of toxin into him as his vision goes red and vertigo settles in no longer even knowing where the red light used to be with everything now coated in red

Izzy feels hands on her shoulders, which helps with the feeling of being submersed in silence and darkness. She blinks her eyes a few times, the vision still spotty but returning. Casting her gaze around, she doesn't see anyone around her holding shoulders, but she does see everyone else. She sees Leafa helping Jinora and Fish pulling away from the bramble. Izzy furrows her brow, tapping a finger against her chin. She strides up to the bramble.
There were a few ways they could go about this, but in her experience, overt politeness towards fey things was usually the way to go. And perhaps there was some merit to being the rose for the thorn.
Standing in front of the wall of thorns, (turning her head this way and that to see if there was an end to the wall on either side) Izzy bows. She knows she can't be heard, but she does say/mouth; "We have been rude not to introduce ourselves. We are caterers trying to get to a party we are throwing and would like passage. Is there something we can offer you for your trouble?" Straightening, she extends her hand, palm up, toward the thorns, without touching them. (23 perception)

as Jinora gets lashed from the vines & Counter-spelled before she even can react she silently screams as the thorns lash against her collar bone. Looking at the wound thinking to herself shes gonna have to fix the tattoo now as she pulls a thorn out of her collar bone she’ll pocket it for later for study but will her mouth will be moving ever quickly as she curses silently to herself before the poison set in she feels her body spinning & the world around her continually moving as her vision takes on shades of red as the poison continues to set in.
looking at everyone as she continues to float its almost like shes on a constantly spinning office chair spinning in the air ever so slightly as she tries to keep her composure. As Leafa comes to help feeling the bracing shell almost start to spin head over heals for a second as her sense of gravity & direction is utterly gone shell drunkenly get to the ground getting on her knees & holding her stomach as she tries not to throw up. Settled on the ground now as her body continues to sway from the thorns effect.
Seeing Vhal’s thieves cant shell give a thumbs up & a goofy smile as she tries to stay focused seeing the thorns spin around them. She starts to fall over but sloppily catching herself standing to her feet... with Leafa’s assistance shell look to fish to walk through but sees him go under the same effect as he is poked... & will watch Izzy try to communicate...
shell say this to Leafa, Vhal & Izzy... not to Fish cause she dosen’t want to get shot lol
I’m going to try going in.. I think were just going to have to bare it.. ill let you know how it goes & Ill “try” to bamf back if this doesn’t work out.
slowly shell stand to her feet a bit half heartedly as she dust herself off.. shell look at her hands thinking to herself for a moment.. this is like a nightmare, or a bad trip right.. you just have to get through it for it to be over.. I can do that.. this isn’t dying again at least. The conversation with Callias about taking better care of herself resonates in her mind for a moment before she tries to ignore it pushing it to the back of her mind as she grits her teeth & push on through.
With a clench her jaw following the path Fish opened she starts to make her way into the thorns.. shell try to start walking through the thorns as best she can once she moves a little further in shell hold her breath & silently grab one of the thorn covered vines squeezing tighter & tighter as the pain sets in hoping it will be over soon.

as jinora walks into the thorn wall at first they give no way scratching at her as she walks but slowly the vines shift moving out of her way a path clear behind her

Leafa holds her breath a bit as she hears Jinora's message before watching her step through. She instinctively winces as she watched before letting out a silent gasp seeing the path clear behind her steps.
She gives a look to everyone, almost slightly apologetic before gesturing to Jinora and following behind her, walking at a bit of a slower pace and constantly looking back to make sure everyone else was following or if they needed help.

Vhalias is quiet as they watch everyone try their ideas. They have no idea what Izzy tried, but it seems that Jinora and Leafa have some luck getting through. So they were right— 'I grab hold and the pain subsides.'
They sign to Fish and Izzy. 'It looks like we have to bite the blade and just grab the vines. One of us should go last and watch our back.'

Izzy throws her hands in the air in jubilation as Jinora walks into the brambles, the path parting easily for her once she has them in her grip. Bouncing on the balls of her feet, she takes a hold of the bramble and brings up the rear of the group.

as the path opens shell turn around giving a thumbs up as she catches her balance still a bit dizzy.. she’ll stay steady for a moment but will let Leafa lead as she’s still getting her balance back from the thorns poison earlier. Her head is still spinning but the excitement from that working fills her with pride as she continues down the path with the group

Leafa will happily take the lead seeing Jinora still recovering from the poison. She makes sure to glance back every now and then to ensure everyone is still there but for the most part keeps her focus forward. She'll keep one hand back a bit incase anyone needs to suddenly grab a hold of it from being dizzy or to stop her.
She then feels a magical pop like feeling as she realizes the unseen servant dispelled itself. She mentally says 'sorry Clothie' before moving on.

Leafa begins walking towards the red light the vines scratching as she passes by but eventually start shifting getting closer to the light the area seems to sloop down in a 20 ft radias as all the vines seem to originate from a point in the middle where a single red rose glowing brightly sits

Vhalias follows after the others into the thicket, glancing back at Izzy to make sure she wasn't having any trouble in her state. As they make their way through, they peer out at the red light to try and make out what was casting it. They tilt their head as the group approaches the rose, coming closer to get a better look at it.
They turn to the others after a second to sign. 'I grab hold and the pain subsides?'
They stretch their hand toward the rose to illustrate.

Fish tries to shake the red from their eyes, but seeing how it doesn't work they continue forward paying attention the vague red Leafa shape in front of them. As they step into the clearing, a silent sigh escapes as there is a moment of respite. They look around a bit to make sure no one got lost before looking at the rose. Seeing the group and remembering the poem, Fish staggers forward carefully with each step to reach and gently grasp the rose to see if Vhalias was on the right track.

as the rose is grasped the red light dissappears as suddenly all the vines seem to be pulled back i to the rose
The lines pulling back cuts off everyone line of sight all people can see is the rush of thorns retreating until suddenly they are no longer in a valley of thorns all injuries from the thorns healed all effects ended
as there vision become no longer blocked by vines they see.... to be continued
