Hilda
Hilda stood at at the end of the two rows of the King’s Guard across from King’s Guard XXXXX XXXXX. As the two most junior member of the King’s Guard they stood last as they flanked the aisle that Blair Tusk walked down.
Lord Commander XXXXX XXXXX of the King’s Guard stood on top of the dais next to King Oswald. The Lord Commander was not often far from the King, but often even in his bright armor was hard to see, but now he stood bright and clear for all the attending lords and nobles of the great temple to see as he stood near his king.
The gold trimmed red and white made them stand out, even among the red and white clad temple as the colors of the Commonwealth were displayed throughout on banners, and the dress of many lords, most those of House Gisking which had given their house colors to the Commonwealth they had founded.
Like Hilda, and XXXXX, the rest of the King’s Guard flanked the aisle in order of importance and seniority. Her brothers and sisters of the King’s Guard Order of the Commonwealth which had been born from the Royal Guards of Daxholm, and joined by those other orders of kingdoms conquered by Daxholm until the formation of the Commonwealth.
Hilda was bored, and wished she could be anywhere else. SHe hated standing at parade attention, even though that was something most of them did when around the king. She hated the idea of the wedding, but hated the fact that Blair Tusk, as she walked down the aisle looked more beauty than any woman that she thought she had ever seen before.
Hilda did her best to maintain her stern and emotionless face like the rest of her brothers and sisters as the soon to be queen walked down the aisle and smiled her bright smile which only made her to look better. She could see small smiles of the faces of some of her brothers and sisters of the King’s Guard.
Hilda had volentered to take command of the security for the wedding, anything but to take part, but King Oswald had inisistd that the whole of the King’s Guard took part, and that security could be handled by the King’s Guard Forces, and planetary security.
Hilda listened as the High Bishop XXXXX XXXXX of Kingsgate, the most senior of the High Bishops of the Fabian Faith within the Commonwealth conduct the ceremony, and than listened to the words she had dreaded, and yet didn’t know why.
“Do you, Blair Tusk, accept this man, King Oswald Gisking as he is, as your dutiful husband?” the High Bishop asked.
“I do!” Blair said, and Hilda thought she sounded just a little too pleased.
“Do you, Lord King, accept this woman, Blair Tusk, as she is, as your dutiful wife?” The High Bishop asked the king.
“I do,” the king said with a smile, and Hilda realized that he didn’t look half his age in that moment.
“Than,” The High Bishop said with a joyful voice, and raised his hands. “Kiss, and may these oaths bring you happiness and plenty. May this union bring peace throughout the realms the Commonwealth, and the Furmann,” he said as the King kissed his new queen.
