Blair

The star system of Anchorage was true to it’s name. The system was full of starships, half built, half decommissioned, or just waiting to be sold into the service of one fleet or another throughout the Commonwealth of Drala. Once seen as one of the major staging points for fleets between the old kingdoms of Umbria, and Warwick, the system had a large starship presence, and above average system infrastructure.

System-lord Vance Blackstone was the most powerful lord of the sector, his ancestors were once known as the Sector-lords before King Oswald, had reclaimed the old Furse titles, and removed to name new lords to the positions. Only to the north in Holderness did House Ice still rule as Sector-lords, and even King Oswald could not remove their rights.

Lord Blackstone, as the most powerful lord of the sector remained in command of the local sector defense fleet, but Lord Wild of Seahold held much influence, and power in the system, even with the small population of that star system

Blair had found it odd, as she tried to read up of the local politics of the sector before their arrival, that a star system like Seahold, the only one on the Fabian Gateway Network in the sector would have such a small population. That was until she read of the endless wars between the old kingdoms, and the sector of Anchorage being trapped between them all. Between the wars of Umbria and Warwick. Furia, and Warwick. Umbria, and Sledd or Daxholm, or even Kingsgate, and Furia. It was the battlefield sector of southern Drala it seemed, and star system of Seahold had been caught in the middle, while the star system or anchorage was insulated by being disconnected from the Fabian Gateway Network that brought so much wealth, power, and trade to most star systems throughout Fabian Space.

Lord Blackstone welcomed the king, and Blair were a grant ceremony, and royal feast. The main city of Anchorage was packed with cheering crowds as their aircraft hovered through the city. Blair still hadn’t gotten fully used to it yet, and waved back with a smile, as she made small talk with Lord Blackstone, his family, and her husband the king.

The food smelt good, and tasted better, but than again everything had started to taste better. Almost everything. From time to time she had been feeling her nose stuff up more often, but atmosphere of the world had seemed to clear it up, and the smells of the many dishes overwhelmed her.

After the meal, Blair felt the now familiar oncoming of heartburn from her food. She tried not to let it bother her, as Ansel slipped her something for it at the first signs, and without anyone seeing.

Blair, and the King enjoyed themselves with the System-lord, and his family until it came time to retire, and she was taken to her newly gifted estate. She were looking forward to relaxing, but more important to the latest doctor visit where she would soon discover for certain the sex of the child growing within her.
